TO: Over 40 Women’s Rec. Players and Team Representatives:
USA Hockey will be conducting the 2011 Over 40 Women’s Rec. Adult Non-Check National Championship Tournament at the Ellenton Ice & Sports Complex in Ellenton, FL from April 28 – May 1, 2011.
Games will be in a round robin format Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Semi-finals, if necessary, will be Saturday evening and the finals will begin around 8:30 AM on Sunday. All teams and at-large players should arrive in time for a possible Thursday Noon time game. Everyone should plan to arrive Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning at the latest.
It is our hope to have two or three four-team divisions. Each division will have a championship game. The “Player Profile” forms submitted with the team application will determine these divisions. We will attempt to use the geographic location of the team as one of the division criteria, so teams will not play others from their area in the preliminary rounds. With your application you must include: (1) Team/At-Large Application Form, (2) Player Profile for each team/at-large player, and (3) Team Roster.
All players must be 40 years of age except three (3) players who may be 36 years of age and goalies may be 35 years of age or older based on the calendar year of the tournament.
Individual players who wish to participate may do so. They may be placed on an at-large team and need to submit: (1) Team/At-Large Application Form (just fill in your name and contact information) and (2) the Player Profile Form. At-large players will be provided with a playing jersey. If there are not enough individuals to make up an at large team, we will do our best to place those individuals on participating teams who need players to fill out their rosters.
Players that participate in any other USA Hockey Women’s National Championship during the current season are ineligible to participate in the USA Hockey Over 40 or Over 50 Women’s Rec. National Championship that season. However, if needed, waiver requests will be entertained.
In the past, “season long” teams have participated as have combined teams so everyone is welcome.
Tournament cost is $950 per team ($95 for an individual who wants to play on an at-large team). To secure your position in the tournament, we need all information and payment by February 1, 2011.
