Congratulations Cape Cod Black Dogs

Ladies - It was a great run this season! Thanks to everyone who played a part in your success. We all had a great time at Mark's and I know the bus ride home was just as much fun. See you all in the summer or fall, maybe even in April.

The site will see some changes in the next week or so. My son Andy is creating a banner for the top reflecting a more long term approach to this blog. I will put up another slide show from the 08' Nats to go along with the 07' version sometime this week. I have more video and never before seen photos so keep checking in. I have some neat video from the victory and I may put that together with all the other stuff for a 4 minute job I'll put up on youtube and link to from the web site.

Keep in touch

Go Dog's!

It's Over in OT - Black Dog's 1 RBK Snipers 2

The Dog's played the top seed in their division last night and came out and played Black Dog Hockey. The spark, hustle and checking which is their trademark threw a scare into the top team. The Dog's took the champ to the ropes a number of times and put the game into an extra stanza. The overtime showed that RBK was really nervous with things getting a little chippy but in the end it was not to be and one made it by Sue to end their title defense.
The heart and soul of this team showed itself in this one for sure. Everyone was on their game and were always putting the pressure on.
Hat's off to the Black Dog's for and incredible run this season and keep looking to this web site as I add more stuff from the tourney.

More Good News

The Black Dog's are still in and have qualified for the quarter finals. The news just came in from Laurie that they just made it in by a point according to Mark, Laurie's brother who took the call. So we are back off to the rink again. We'll keep you posted!

Go Dogs!

The Good and the Bad - Tampa Bay 4-1

The good news the dogs have a chance to get into the quarter finals, the bad news is they lost to Tampa Bay 4-1. The last seven minutes of play was a joy to watch, the rest not so much. But all and all the other team was pretty good. We are awaiting word from Laurie now as to what the team's status is. We'll let you all know when we find out.

Dog Day Afternoon

The dogs are not having a good day. The score after two periods is Tampa Bay 4 Black Dogs 1. I'll keep you updated at the end of the game.

Who Let the Dogs Out

The Black Dog's pulled out ahard fought victory over the Missouri Hericanes 3-2. More to come later on tonight.

Just a little action video to keep you going - not great just a taste.

The team ran into a small problem on the way to Philadelphia, the bus broke down on the expressway. We all stopped and tried to help but it was to no avail. We headed back to Raymond's house and have no idea what is going on. So you all are in the dark as much we. I will blog from the game another update.

Ciao!

Good game wrong outcome

These photos are third period action. This game was pretty good for a starter. Utah is much younger but the Dogs have played better. The goal was a bit of a snorer. Sue had it in her arm pit but the goal was still counted. Sue was pulled in the third for a sixth skater and alot of action took place in the Utah end but to no avail.
More to come.

Final Score Black Dogs 0 Utah 1

Final update with photos and video to come in the next hour or so.

KW

Score at the end 2 periods 1-0 Utah

Looking for an open teammate

Amy Mulvey looks to make a pass that counts, which she did quite often at the 07' Nats. Mulvey was in the top ten for scoring along with Cathy Silva.

So let me know what you think

Send me some comments so I know what you want to see when things start to heat up on Friday.

Comments are open to Everyone

Due to a mistake of mine I had made it so that only folks with a Gmail address could post a comment. Now it is open to everyone to comment on any post.

No Contact - Ya Right!

This shot was taken during the Darcy Edmonds tournament in Gloucester, MA in Sept. That's Amy Niederberger flying over the Bear's goalie.

Poll Battle

The numbers are starting to get closer and closer. The more than 30 crowd had a big head start and leads the 20 crowd 9-4 or 64% to 28%. Those in the know are keeping quite on exactly how many Super Fans (friends, family etc.) will attend this years event. You never know who can be pulled in from South Jersey, PA and other areas close to the event.

It's gonna be close.

Keep coming by to check. I'll be putting up more photos tonight so tell your friends, fellow players etc to keep checking back right up until the bus leaves.

Ciao!

Super Fans !!!

The Super Fans are back!!! A large contingent from MA and quite possibly a larger contingent from PA will be there for the tourney. "Who Let the Dogs Out" Woof, Woof, Woof

Silva !!!!!

Cathy Silva slides around the Mission goalie for a goal in the semi-final in 2007. Silva was on fire during the tourney and along with Amy Mulvey were in the top ten in scoring.

Mission Michigan is back again this year looking for payback. They had three women in the top ten in scoring in 2007 but were not as strong in net and it cost them.

Celebration Time

In classic Dog style the team celebrates their Senior C National Championship with their fans who travelled to San Jose, CA last year to bark them to victory. Notice team captain Laurie Raymond, (r) leading the classic cheer, "Who let the Dog's Out". A large contingent from MA is expected to cheer the team on in West Chester, PA this year. If you can't make it, check in here for the latest updates, photos, video's etc.

Sue's Miraculous Save

Sue Mead makes a super save vs Mission in the semi-final of the 07' National's. Sue lead the tournament with a SV% of .946 and a GAA of 1.00, simply amazing. As the leading goalie for the tournament she also had 3 shutouts.

National's Blog

We will be blogging from West Chester, PA after each game starting with Game 1 Friday 28th at 10 AM vs Utah. Before the games begin I will post a few shots each day from either last years Nat's or from a tourney game this year.
